MacIntyre Advisors is a third generation family office founded by a British entrepreneur from the Grenedine Islands of the British West Indies. The family’s wealth dates to the 1930s with the sale of a  business which processed and refined an important ingrediant of starch to a multi-national corporation.  Subsequent to immigrating to the United States the founder established himself as an accomplished investor in both public and privately run businesses. With the second generation taking control in 1969 the family continued actively managing the portfolio investing for the long term in high quality management teams.  One such management team was that of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. which the family invested in 1970 and remains an investor today.   The family entered alternative investments during the late 1980’s investing with some of early pioneers of venture capital and corporate finance.  With the third generation assuming control in 2012 the family has continued its focus on alternative investments opportunistically.

Mr. MacDonald is the Managing Partner of MacIntyre Advisors providing over 30 years of investment experience deploying capital across the public and private markets.

Prior to taking leadership of the family office,  Mr. MacDonald was a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager with the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Private Equity Group, a $30 billion fund of private equity funds, secondary and direct investment business.  During his fifteen-year career with J.P. Morgan,  Mr. MacDonald invested across the spectrum of private equity funds, secondaries and direct investments having invested and managed a global multi-billion private equity portfolio working closely with a diverse group of institutional investors.  Mr. MacDonald also worked closely with prominent Asian and European family offices developing, executing and managing their global private equity portfolios.
